Breast Reduction / Breast Lift Surgery
Large or sagging breasts can cause both physical discomfort and aesthetic concerns for many women. Chronic neck and back pain due to overly large breasts can significantly affect daily life, while sagging or drooping breasts (known as breast ptosis) often impact self-confidence and posture.

Should I Consider Breast Reduction or Breast Lift Surgery?
Many women wonder whether they are good candidates for these procedures.
The decision depends on several factors — including your body type, breast size, degree of sagging, and overall health.
You may be a good candidate if you:
Are in good physical and mental health
Experience neck, shoulder, or back pain due to large breasts
Have skin irritation beneath the breast crease
Wish to improve breast shape and symmetry after pregnancy or weight loss
Desire firmer, lifted breasts without excess sagging
Feel limited in your clothing or physical activities due to breast size or droopiness
How is Breast Reduction and Lift Surgery Performed?
Breast Reduction
Breast reduction surgery involves removing excess skin, fat, and glandular tissue to achieve a smaller, lighter, and more proportionate breast size.
The surgeon makes carefully placed incisions, removes the necessary tissue, and repositions the nipple and areola for a more youthful contour.
In some cases, liposuction may also be used to refine the breast shape and improve definition.
The goal is to achieve symmetry, balance, and natural proportion, while maintaining sensitivity and aesthetic harmony.
Breast Lift (Mastopexy)
For patients with sagging breasts, mastopexy (breast lift) focuses on removing excess skin and lifting the breast tissue to restore firmness and shape.
This can be performed with or without implants, depending on whether the patient desires additional volume.
Common incision types include:
Periareolar (around the areola) – for mild sagging
Vertical (lollipop scar) – for moderate sagging
Inverted T (anchor scar) – for significant sagging or skin excess
The nipple and areola are repositioned higher on the breast to achieve a natural, youthful look.
If implants are added, the result combines lifted and fuller breasts, enhancing both shape and volume.
Post-Surgery Care & Recovery
Recovery time varies depending on the extent of the surgery, but most patients return to regular activities within 2 to 6 weeks.
It is important to avoid strenuous activities and heavy lifting during this period.
General Recovery Guidelines
Dressings and bandages will protect the incisions until fully healed
Stitches are usually removed after 7–10 days
Swelling and mild discomfort are normal during the first weeks
Scars fade significantly over time and are hidden beneath normal clothing
A surgical bra should be worn for support during the recovery phase
Sun exposure should be avoided to prevent scar darkening
Patients who combine a reduction and lift often experience dramatic improvements in both comfort and breast aesthetics — feeling lighter, more confident, and naturally balanced.
